Preston North End line up confirmed for key Huddersfield Town clash

Preston North End have made four changes for this evening’s game against Huddersfield Town in the Championship.

Manager Ryan Lowe has not only rung the changes, but he has also changed the formation, this time opting for a 3-4-2-1 formation.

Greg Cunningham, Brad Potts, Ryan Ledson and Ben Woodburn come into the starting XI, with Bambo Diaby, Alan Browne, Robbie Brady and Sean Maguire.

It is the same formation that North End used when they beat Huddersfield earlier this season in the Carabao Cup 4-1.

Freddie Woodman starts in goal, with Jordan Storey continuing on the right of the defence with Andrew Hughes at the heart of defence alongside Cunningham.

Potts comes back in at right wing back, his first start since September 17, with Ben Whiteman captaining the side in the middle of midfield next to Ryan Ledson. Alvaro Fernandez starts at left wing back, where he set up two goals earlier on this season.

The man who converted both crosses Ali McCann starts in behind the striker, with Woodburn who also did in the previous cup win. Emil Riis leads the line on his own.

Mark Fotheringham made one change to his Terriers’ side that were beaten 2-1 by Rotherham United on Saturday as Ollie Turton comes in for Yuta Nakayama.

PNE Starting XI: Woodman, Storey, Hughes, Cunningham, Potts, Whiteman, Ledson, Fernandez, McCann, Woodburn, Riis.

PNE subs: Cornell, Diaby, Brady, Browne, Evans, Maguire, Cross-Adair.

Huddersfield Town Starting XI: Nicholls, Turton, Helik, Lees, Thomas, Kasumu, Holmes, Camara, Jackson, Ward, Rhodes.

Huddersfield Town subs: Bilokapic, Nakayama, Ruffels, Diarra, Mahoney, Rudoni, Ondo.
