Driver in his 60s dies after Mazda crashes into Grimsargh bus shelter and church wall

A man in his 60s sadly died after a crash in Grimsargh last night.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene in Preston Road at around 6.30pm, along with an air ambulance which touched down near St Michael's Church.

Hide AdThe road was closed in both directions for around five hours - between the roundabout in Longridge Road at Red Scar and the junction with Ribblesdale Road.
A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a man sadly died following a collision.
“We were called at shortly after 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, April 30) after a Mazda 6 driving north on Preston Road at Grimsargh left the road and collided with a bus shelter and church wall.

Hide Ad“Very sadly despite the efforts of emergency services the driver, a man in his 60s, died.

Hide Ad“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage from the area are asked to contact police,” said the force spokesperson.
