Jack Jermy-Doyle: murder victim from Preston remembered at tribute wrestling match at Flag Market

We will always remember you – that was the heartfelt message at an outdoor wrestling match in Preston dedicated to the memory of Jack Jermy-Doyle.

The match on Preston’s flag market was a poignant occasion. Jack, 25, died on August 14 after being assaulted on the junction of Harris Street and Birley Street in the city at around 2.40am on August 12.

His friend wrestler Kane Korso has set up a fundraiser for Jack Jermy-Doyle’s family and used the match to help publicise the GoFundMe appeal and honour Jack’s memory.

Kane (real name Jack Quinn) and his tag team partner Dan Whyte, were taking part in the PCW Pro Championship Wrestling, (formerly known as Preston City Wrestling) event during an afternoon of outdoor wrestling.

They were fighting to retain their championship belts against opponents Joey Hayes and Danny Hope.

Kane said: "This match already has huge significance for the pair of us...but this match isn't about us any more.”

The online appeal page said: ”Please give what you can, and stay safe.”

Our photos capture the flavour of the afternoon event which also featured other wrestlers.
